Polyester fabric, particularly when treated, exhibits excellent water repellency, capable of repelling over 95% of water droplets before saturation. Its non-porous surface naturally inhibits microbial growth, making it inherently resistant to mildew. The quick-drying nature of polyester is also crucial; in a well-ventilated bathroom, it can dry within 30-60 minutes after use, significantly reducing the conditions necessary for mildew to form, unlike more absorbent materials that retain moisture longer.

Modern 3D printing techniques on polyester fabrics, often using high-resolution digital methods and specialized inks, are designed for colorfastness. Expect minimal fading, typically less than 5% color degradation after 50 standard machine wash cycles. The fine details of the 3D effect are maintained because the ink is bonded deeply into the polyester fibers. Polyester can withstand temperatures up to 140°C (284°F), well above typical bathroom steam temperatures, ensuring the print's integrity and vibrancy over time.
